The Flavorful Bliss Brewing Guide
Great coffee starts with great beans — but the brew makes all the difference. Whether you're a pour over purist or a cold brew devotee, this guide walks you through every method so you can get the most out of every bag.
☕ Pour Over
Best for: Single-origin coffees where clarity and nuance matter most.
- Ratio: 1:15 — 1g coffee per 15g water (e.g., 25g coffee / 375g water)
- Grind: Medium-fine (like coarse sand)
- Water Temp: 200°F / 93°C (just off boil)
- Brew Time: 3–4 minutes
Steps
- Place filter in dripper and rinse with hot water. Discard rinse water.
- Add ground coffee and level the bed.
- Start timer. Pour 50g of water to bloom — saturate all grounds evenly. Wait 30–45 seconds.
- Continue pouring in slow, steady circles, keeping water level consistent.
- Finish pouring by 2:30. Total brew time should be 3–4 minutes.
- Remove dripper and enjoy.
Flavorful Bliss Tip: Our single-origin coffees shine brightest with pour over — try our Ethiopia or Kenya for a floral, fruit-forward cup.
🫖 French Press
Best for: Full-bodied, rich cups with natural oils intact.
- Ratio: 1:12 — 1g coffee per 12g water (e.g., 30g coffee / 360g water)
- Grind: Coarse (like sea salt)
- Water Temp: 200°F / 93°C
- Brew Time: 4 minutes
Steps
- Preheat your French press with hot water. Discard.
- Add coarsely ground coffee.
- Pour all water over grounds. Stir gently to saturate.
- Place lid on top (plunger up). Set timer for 4 minutes.
- At 4 minutes, press plunger down slowly and steadily.
- Pour immediately — don't let it sit or it will over-extract.
Flavorful Bliss Tip: Our Cowboy Blend and dark roast blends are made for French press — bold, smooth, and deeply satisfying.
☕ Drip (Auto Drip Machine)
Best for: Everyday brewing, larger batches, and convenience.
- Ratio: 1:15 — 1g coffee per 15g water
- Grind: Medium (like table salt)
- Water Temp: 195–205°F / 90–96°C (most machines handle this automatically)
- Brew Time: 5–8 minutes
Steps
- Use filtered water for the best flavor.
- Place a fresh filter in the basket.
- Add medium-ground coffee — about 1–2 tablespoons per 6oz of water.
- Brew and enjoy. Clean your machine regularly for best results.
Flavorful Bliss Tip: Our Breakfast Blend and flavored coffees are perfect for drip — consistent, approachable, and delicious every morning.
⚡ Espresso
Best for: Concentrated shots, lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso-based drinks.
- Ratio: 1:2 — 1g coffee per 2g water (e.g., 18g coffee / 36g espresso out)
- Grind: Very fine (like powdered sugar)
- Water Temp: 195–205°F / 90–96°C
- Brew Time: 25–30 seconds
Steps
- Grind coffee very fine and dose into portafilter.
- Tamp evenly with firm, level pressure (~30 lbs).
- Lock portafilter into machine and start shot immediately.
- Target 25–30 seconds for a 1:2 yield.
- Adjust grind finer if shot runs too fast; coarser if too slow.
Flavorful Bliss Tip: Our single-serve coffee capsules are designed for espresso-style machines — no grinding required, perfect extraction every time.
🧊 Cold Brew
Best for: Smooth, low-acid coffee served over ice. Great for warm weather.
- Ratio: 1:8 — 1g coffee per 8g water (e.g., 100g coffee / 800g cold water)
- Grind: Extra coarse (like rough gravel)
- Water Temp: Cold or room temperature
- Brew Time: 12–24 hours
Steps
- Combine coarsely ground coffee and cold filtered water in a jar or cold brew maker.
- Stir to ensure all grounds are saturated.
- Cover and refrigerate for 12–24 hours. Longer = stronger.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- Store concentrate in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- Serve over ice, diluted 1:1 with water or milk.

General Tips for a Better Cup
